Now that Matt week is over it’s back to work on FOWA

I have been working closely with the other Carsonites and the guys at ExCel to create an amazing Expo floor for you guys! As i have said it is going to be bigger than ever but size is not the most important thing here.

There are going to be tons of fun things to do in between sessions, the FOWA uni workshops, competitions, not to mention opportunities to chat to industry leaders and startups to gain valuable advice. In order for you to make the most of the expo floor we have extended the break times so you can enjoy it all at a relaxed pace.

New speaker confirmed

I am so pleased that Alvin Woon from Plurk has agreed to speak at FOWA, not only that but he is also hosting the workshop on Advanced techniques for designing web app interfaces!

Alvin Woon is the UI lead for Plurk, a social network with a focus on short messages. His primary work is focused on designing user interface and leading aspects of usability research.

We managed to build a web app, market it and launch it in four days! The whole team has worked so hard on this and they have done an amazing job. It has really been a learning experience for us all and we hope that you guys enjoyed all the footage.

Definitely time for a beer (or three!)

We have reached the last day of Matt week and are planning to launch at 5.30pm! I am waiting for the panic to set in with the deadline ahead but everyone is surprisingly calm

We got loads of great feedback from the Time Lapse videos and i will be posting another today, great for comedy value and to see how often you snack at your desk if nothing else! The support and feedback all round has been really positive and we really appreciate it. If any of you are around later today come along to Carsonified HQ in Bath for the launch and a beer!

We filmed some of the guys busy building Matt for a whole day this week along with their screens, then sped it up.

All pretty quiet at Carsonified HQ at the moment. Dev boys, Keir and Elliott have their eyes glued to the screens and its very much heads down time as we go into Day 3 of Matt week.

I have been having a nose at the designs Mike is working on and they look fab, really excited about the launch tomorrow, all being well of course.

The video camera has been confiscated for the morning so no more buzzing around them as they try and work. Ill get my own back this afternoon! hehe

These are the Matt logo ideas so far, so it looks like we are definitely sticking with the spaceman/alien theme!

It has been so interesting to see these develop from the original sketches and ideas. We know that it isn’t really in keeping with the theme of themattinator, but we’re kinda running low on time now, and plus i like the little guys.

I have been busy sneaking around today recording little snippets of discussions on copy and design before Louise stole the camera off me and made me take my turn. Check out the videos below for a catch up of how we’re doing on day 2!

Day 1

Day 2 so far!

We started today with a short catch up meeting to set our goals for the day and i must say it’s looking pretty positive!

The whole team are doing a fab job getting stuck in there and at the moment i can really see us launching successfully on Thursday! Yay! I think we will all need a few drinks by then so Will, Dom and Tash are thinking of organising a little launch party.

So you guys can see where we’re at with the development and design of Matt, i will be posting some pics really soon along with some more video footage.
